11th Anniversary Cider Cocktails

This month marks 11 years of Portland Cider and we knew we wanted to create something meaningful and delicious to celebrate with you – our cider-loving fans! So, in honor of our husband-and-wife owners, Jeff and Lynda Parrish, we’ve created TWO anniversary cider cocktails using our flagships: Kinda Dry and Original Gold.

Community has meant everything to us these past 11 years, so it only seemed right to partner with a few of our fellow bevvy besties to make our cider cocktail dreams come to life. We’ve included Freeland Spirits and The Bitter Housewife, both local, women-owned companies bringing their unique flavors to every sip.

Smashing Basil 🌿

As a nod to owner Lynda’s English roots, the Smashing Basil combines our flagship cider and best-seller, Kinda Dry with Freeland Spirits Gin and The Bitter Housewife Lime Coriander Bitters. This drink is perfectly refreshing with notes of smooth apple and citrus.

Ingredients

1.5 oz Freeland Spirits Gin

8-10 dashes of The Bitter Housewife Lime Coriander Bitters

1 oz basil simple syrup

1 oz lime juice

2 oz Portland Cider Kinda Dry

Add gin, bitters, syrup and lime juice to a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a glass, then stir in the cider. Garnish with a fresh basil leaf or lime wedge and serve.

Bourbon King 👑

Bourbon has always been a first-choice spirit to owner Jeff, so it was an easy decision to dub this bevvy the Bourbon King! Made with our flagship and now 12-time gold medal-winning Original Gold cider, Freeland Spirits Bourbon, and The Bitter Housewife Old Fashioned Aromatic Bitters this cider cocktail is best described as the perfect old-fashioned with a subtle sweet twist.

Ingredients

2 oz Freeland Spirits Bourbon

8-10 dashes of The Bitter Housewife Old Fashioned Aromatic Bitters

1 oz black tea

.5 oz lemon juice

2 oz Portland Cider Original Gold

Add bourbon, bitters, tea and lemon juice to a shaker with ice, and shake vigorously. Strain into a glass, then stir in the cider. Express an orange or lemon peel over the top, and garnish with the peel. Enjoy!

Stop by our Clackamas or Beaverton location the whole month of April to try one (or both 😉) for yourself!
