A Simple Bourbon Sweet Tea Cocktail

While summer is coming to a close here in the PNW, everyone is looking for a simple sipper during this fast-approaching change of season. This Bourbon Sweet Tea cocktail combines Broken Top Whiskey’s Straight Bourbon Whiskey with Portland Cider Co.’s fan-favorite, high ABV peach cider.  Imperial Peach Tea is a rich, golden imperial cider made from crisp Northwest apples and mouthwateringly juicy Washington peaches. Steeped Assam black tea from Steven Smith Teamaker adds an extra zing that puts this cider a notch above the rest. 

Every bottle of Broken Top’s Straight Bourbon Whiskey begins with a unique blend of American-grown corn, rye and barley for a fine finish. With hints of sweet fruit, caramel and a cream body, this whiskey perfectly compliments the Assam black tea in our cider. 

When our cider maker met with the Broken Top team, they immediately new the two would be an easy-to-please (and make) cider cocktail for the masses! Bourbon Sweet Tea

Makes: 1 cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Broken Top Bourbon Whiskey

  • 7 oz Portland Cider Co. Imperial Peach Tea Cider

Or make a picther with 4 cans of Imperial Peach Tea and 6 oz whiskey, plus a handful of mint leaves. 

Directions

  1. Pour whiskey over ice in a cocktail shaker, shake vigorously.

  2. Top with cider and gently stir.

  3. Pour over ice with a lemon wedge and sprig of mint to garnish.
