Ingredients
1 - 12 oz bag of fresh cranberries, rinsed
1 cup of Crangerine cider from Portland Cider Co.
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup light-brown sugar
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons orange zest
Instructions
In a medium sauce-pan, whisk together cider, granulated sugar, and brown sugar over medium-high heat.
Zest or grate an orange - be careful not to get the white part because it’s bitter.
Bring mixture to a gentle boil, then whisk in the ground cinnamon and half of your orange zest.
Gently pour cranberries into the saucepan and reduce heat to a simmer.
Simmer the mixture uncovered for 10 - 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cranberries begin to pop and sizzle.
Using a potato masher, gently mash the cranberries to make it thicker - the more you mash, the smoother it will be - or use a blender to make it very smooth.
Simmer for another 3 minutes and then turn off heat but leave the pot uncovered on top of the burner to cool and thicken for 20-30 minutes.
Store in refrigerator in an airtight container!
Serve this Crangerine Sauce alongside your turkey and serve with a pint of Crangerine cider!
