Autumn in the PNW: Orange sun, orange leaves, pumpkin spice everything (including cider, of course!), and a heat wave that catches us off guard every year, even though we should know better than to be surprised! Fall is the most beautiful time of year in this part of the world. And regardless of the temperature, it’s officially hoodie and pumpkin patch season, and we are HERE FOR IT. 

At Portland Cider, we’re especially keen on the pumpkin patch at Bella Organic Farm on Sauvie Island. They’ve been great partners of ours for years, and you’ll always find our cider at their farmstand. Bella is the place to be every September and October, as they throw open their gates to fall fans and offer up days full of hay rides, pumpkin picking, and the most incredible corn maze. (This year’s theme is a thank-you to teachers, which is something we can all agree on!) After petting the farm animals, choosing your favorite gourds and securing your tix for the after-dark haunted corn maze, you can refuel with hot, fresh corn on the cob, caramel corn, and Pumpkin Spice Cider while you watch the sun go down. Not a bad way to spend the day…

Go see for yourself: Bella Organic Farm is just a 20-minute drive north of the heart of Portland, but the farmland, vistas and wildlife preserves around the island will make you feel far, far away from the bustle of the city.
