January Brings Two Cider Launches from Portland Cider Co. in Celebration of Oregon Cider Week

CLACKAMAS, Ore. — January 9, 2024 — Portland Cider Co. is celebrating the new year with the launch of its seasonal Mango Mimosa Cider and its limited-run pub favorite, English Pub Cider. The releases coincide with Oregon Cider Week, January 13 to January 21.

Mango Mimosa is a sunny, fruit-forward cider made with ripe mango and a splash of citrus. It is ideally paired with cheery brunch pancakes and egg dishes, spicy curries or carne asada tacos, and light desserts like champagne cupcakes or fruit tarts.  It is medium-sweet, with a stone fruit nose and a bright, bubbly finish. The cider debuted a year ago and has proven to be among the most popular of the company’s seasonal releases. Available in 12-ounce 6-packs and 19.2-ounce ‘Proper Pint’ cans through winter and early spring.

English Pub Cider has been available on tap in Portland Cider locations for more than six years, and is a favorite of regular guests and employees alike. Made with a variety of heritage cider apple varieties grown in the Willamette Valley, the cider is fermented and aged for over a year, resulting in a smooth-but-dry, tannic cider full of character and complexity. The release of English Pub Cider in cans marks the beginning of a rotating, limited-release series dedicated to Portland Cider pub favorites, each available for a short time in 16-ounce 4-packs.

“These two releases are fortunately timed with Oregon Cider Week, and we are definitely in a celebratory mood around here,” said Portland Cider co-owner Jeff Parrish. “As cider fans and cider makers from across the country convene in Portland this month, we’re looking forward to making some new friends and seeing some familiar faces, as well. We hope that all of the Portland-based cider lovers can take advantage of being the host city for the national cider convention this year, and enjoy some of the fantastic events across the city that are designed to celebrate our favorite beverage.”

As Oregon’s second-largest locally-owned cidery, Portland Cider will be participating in a long list of events connected to Oregon Cider Week and CiderCon 2024, which is returning to Portland for the first time in almost a decade. Event highlights include:
