Rooted in Our Team: Jodi Campbell
Jodi is an important member of our Portland Cider family. She’s our friendly ambassador to the many restaurants, bars, and stores that carry our ciders in Oregon & SW Washington, making sure that the buyers know about our latest releases, and learning what cider shoppers are looking for.
As a self-described “big beer nerd” and homebrewer, Jodi understands the craft behind the cider very well. She’s been with us here for about two years, and you might catch her after work enjoying our taproom exclusive English Pub Cider, or taking a sixer of Kinda Dry home to her husband and cat, Bella. (Note: Bella doesn’t drink cider.)
While she loves talking to the people she meets out in the world, Jodi swears that the best part of her job is the people right here at Portland Cider. “Everyone here is just so genuinely nice,” she says. And she’s determined to live out her childhood dreams of operating heavy machinery by getting her forklift certification. Look out, warehouse!
Jodi keeps busy outside of work by enjoying the great outdoors via kayak, hiking, snowboarding and snowshoeing her way around the Pacific Northwest. And when she’s not exploring the wilderness, she’s baking, fermenting, and tending to her own garden and ever-expanding houseplant collection. She has a few tips for people who want to nurture their own indoor wild area:
Don’t give up! You, too, can grow houseplants.
Try a variety of plant types—wide-leaf ones, cacti, ferns...no two people have the same conditions, so experiment to find what grows best for you.
Join plant-lover groups on social media. There’s an incredible network out there just waiting to answer your questions and solve your problems!
If you see someone having success, ask them about it.
Jodi once found herself behind a truck carrying a gigantic pumpkin to a contest. She wanted to know how it grew so large, so she followed the farmer to his destination and cornered him there. She learned all about pumpkin-growing and gained some tips that she still uses in her garden today.
We’re lucky to have Jodi on our team and are excited to see her continue to grow in the craft cider world and here at Portland Cider Co.
