As an Apple-centric company, it may not surprise you to learn that fall is our favorite season at Portland Cider. Sure, the leaves are turning glorious shades of orange and gold and red, and the rain is returning, and the sunny days are bright and crisp… But most importantly of all, it’s harvest season!

We believe in sourcing the best possible ingredients in our ciders, including real vanilla from Singing Dog Vanilla in our Tangerine Dreamsicle cider. This dreamy small-batch wouldn’t be possible without them, so we sat down with their co-founder to find out what sets them apart.

Summer in the Pacific Northwest is the very best thing. After so many gray and rainy days, the sun is out, the sky is blue, and the air is warm and welcoming. It’s time to get outside and enjoy it—preferably with a chilled can of cider nearby!

The “Cider Samurai” title on Sam’s business card is deceptively simple. Since he joined the Portland Cider team as our second-ever cidermaker five years ago, Sam has become the glue that allows us to continue pumping out our cider creations. He thrives on taking care of the things that help the rest of the team do their jobs well, anticipating issues before they occur and preventing them so that the cider keeps flowing uninterrupted.

They say you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. We kept that in mind as we humbly reached out to ask our tea idols, Steven Smith Teamaker if they’d like to partner with Portland Cider Co. on our brand-new Imperial Peach Tea release. Happily, they not only took our call, but they were also excited to work with us to create this first-of-its-kind beverage!
